How this works

In return for a free place on a course you have chosen, the host school:

  1. Gets together the participants and act as our point of contact. Participants can be from your school or can be from other schools.
  2. Provides a room with a projector that’s suitable for D&T activities (in most cases it doesn’t need to be a D&T room but good access to electrical sockets is needed). A room that avoids steps is best because of equipment we bring (unless there’s a lift).
  3. Provides basic refreshments when people arrive and at breaks (e.g. hot and cold drinks and biscuits and fruit). Your school also provides a basic buffet style lunch, usually in the training room (e.g. sandwiches, crisps, cake, fruit).

Guide to numbers of participants and costs

  • Participants can all be from the host school or you can invite other local schools.
  • The host school gets one free place for any type of course (see above for details).
  • We need a minimum number of bookings in order for a course to be cost effective for us to run. We can run courses for smaller numbers than those listed but fees for the minimum number of participants will be charged to the host school.
  • The exact fee will depend on the type of course and where you are based but below is a guide to costs.

Online part day course (usually up to 2hrs 30 mins)

  • At least 4 paying participants (+ 1 free place)
  • Numbers are flexible but up to around 10 people works best
  • Fees start at £150 per person

Online full day course (usually 10am - 6pm)

  • At least 5 paying participants (+ 1 free place)
  • Numbers are flexible but up to around 10 people works best
  • Fees start from £175 per person.

Face to face part day course (usually up to 2hrs 30 mins)

  • At least 6 paying participants (+ 1 free place)
  • Usually a maximum of 10 participants
  • Fees start from £200 per person depending on the course and location
  • Part day face to face courses are less cost effective for us so you may find other options listed offer you better value for money

One day face to face course (usually 10am - 6pm)

  • At least 6 paying participants (+ 1 free place)
  • Usually a maximum of 10 participants
  • Fees start from £225 per person depending on the course and location.

Organising the course

Option 1

We can coordinate the bookings which includes processing bookings, collecting fees, sending out travel information etc.

Option 2

Alternatively your school can choose to coordinate the bookings (including processing bookings, collecting fees, sending out travel information etc.) and this gives you the option of charging participants a fee you set yourself which means you can offset some of your own costs. We invoice your school based on the number of people who attend using the fees listed above (your school still gets a free place).
