  • The V&A have released some useful resources linked to the design process, as well as a National Schools Challenge which opens in September 2019. The resources and challenge are targeted at KS3 but many are also useful for supporting GCSE students before they start their NEA.  Find out more.
  • Julia Daviy is a designer using 3D printing to create everyday flexible and wearable clothing that is also customisable. The prices of items reflect how long the process can take (starting at around £600 as a starting price for a skirt), & there’s some way still to go to creating a breadth of materials that truly mimic a textiles material, but it’s interesting to see the technology gradually being able to produce thinner & more flexible materials. It’s also interesting to see more and more fashion designers specialising in this area in their collections rather than more traditional techniques.
