This week’s free resource downloads
For this week’s website update we’ve been focusing on polymers and 6 free downloads have been added to the ‘introduction to polymers' page, most of which have only been available previously via our courses. The resources follow a similar format to the ones on timbers and metals from the previous 2 weeks. They are designed to support the KS3 curriculum as well as the core content of the D&T GCSE, but they are likely to support other qualifications as well. There will be resources on paper and board and textiles to follow over the next few weeks. - Link to a collaboration between the D&T Association and Untitled where students can work on live briefs - this might be useful as a home learning activity
- Resource download from Kitronik that might be useful for home learning and which is a good example of how maths is used in electronics
- Information on conductive PLA for use with a 3D printer, including an Instructables resource on using Tinkercad to create a product with the filament.
- Article on reducing aerodynamic drag when designing products for cycling
- Link to a free one hour online Zoom chat run by Dawn Foxall and Nicky Simpson from the Textile Teachers Centre and Textiles Skills Academy on Wednesday 10th Feb at 4pm. Nicky will be doing a presentation with ideas for home learning and Paul and I will be there to answer any queries linked to textiles from a D&T GCSE perspective.
