Community Recycle Scheme

An exciting new scheme has been set up to help educational facilities across the UK by donating second-hand or end of line stock. Community Recycle collaborates with a range of suppliers and manufacturers and donates the free stock to schools, helping them to improve their facilities. This also often prevents the items from being sent to landfill.

A wide range of goods are available through the scheme, donated by various companies working within the external school environment sector. The full list of items can be seen on the website, where schools can then send a request to receive one of the items.

The requests made on the website are then reviewed by the Community Recycle team, who coordinate where each item can be sent. Free delivery is then arranged with the school. So far over 40 primary and secondary schools have benefitted from the initiative, but the goal is to help a school in every town of the UK so there is plenty of work to be done!

Notton House Academy was one of the first schools to have received an item from the scheme, choosing a plant pot. The Headteacher Michelle Reysenn said:

“We are very grateful for the donation of the plant pot. It sits proudly in reception, showing all of our staff, young people, their families, and visitors, that the Notton House Core Values of Safety, Kindness, and Respect, are embraced in everything we do. We simply love our Core Values Tree! Every young person who attends Notton, has their name and award displayed on this.”

If you would like to donate discontinued stock or a second-hand item to the scheme or if you would like to apply to receive items currently available visit the website
