The development of advanced metals and new techniques in manufacturing plays an important role in many industries. Reducing the weight of metals in cars, for example, reduces fuel consumption, cuts down CO2 emissions and reduces costs. In the aerospace sector this is even more important, enabling us to explore deeper into space.
