With a great new build in 2017 the fashion and textiles department is a state of the art building with fabulous facilities in a range of disciplines.

DMU

The fashion and textiles department has an impressive 75% employment rate for graduates before they even complete their final year, something that is an important influencing factor for students when the choose courses. Lecturers said their courses focus a lot on students thinking about employability skills and what the industry wants in the real world. This includes a detailed understanding of the technical side of textiles, including fabric and product testing, which they said was the basis of designing and manufacturing and a key to employability.
