Maximising Progression in D&T Through Higher Order Thinking Skills

  • How to raise & measure progression using higher order thinking skills
  • Suitable for all D&T teachers from all materials areas
  • Targeted at KS3, 4 and 5
  • Tried & tested tips & strategies that engage learners including boys, G&T & borderline students
  • Focus on key developmental areas identified by Ofsted e.g. assessment without levels, increasing creativity, higher level thinking skills
  • Hands on experience of various strategies specific to D&T textiles including Speed Designing (a strategy developed by Julie Boyd that is successful at increasing pace & creativity & which is proven to raise the achievement of boys and border line students)
  • Hands on experience of how to effectively apply Bloom’s Taxonomy within a D&T context to develop higher level thinking
  • Resources and ideas that will impact on teaching and learning in your classroom immediately.
