Exhibition at the Fashion & Textile Museum, London (until June 2012)

The Fashion and Textile Museum in London founded by Zandra Rhodes is a ‘must visit’ venue for fashion, textiles and jewellery lovers. They have a programme of changing exhibitions, an Academy which runs courses for creative students and businesses, and a coffee shop ‘The Café @ FTM’.

In the heart of fashionable Bermondsey Village, the museum is set in a building designed by Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta. Both the building and the collections and workshops are a real inspiration to anyone interested in textiles and related areas.

The Museum is a great place to visit at any time but until mid June it has an exhibition on British female designers from the 1950s and 1960s. In particular the exhibition focuses on the work of Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag and Marian Mahler whose progressive designs influenced the art world at the time and have continued to impact on design in the contemporary home.
