Website links that might save you time

As we get nearer and nearer the GCSE and A level exam board deadlines I know how busy things are. Hopefully my updates are saving you time and providing resources you can use in your lessons.

The Practical Action website is a great site to visit for information on sustainable textiles . If you have internet access in your classroom this is a good site to set students research tasks on. If you don’t have the internet you can download resources and activities or use the site as a focus for homework tasks. Using this site might save lesson planning time and allow you to focus on marking and moderation whilst still keeping students on the ball with revision.

Another great site for research tasks on is American Apparel which as well as the usual online fashion store has pictures of manufacturing equipment and information on workers pay and conditions  as well as a factory tour and short video clips on different areas of the business (be patient as some take a while to upload) For something more light hearted take a look at the dog hoodies and coats which, if nothing else, will make you smile at this stressful time

Finally if you are in the Mansfield area and have any students interested in apprenticeships in knitwear a family run company are offer apprenticeships with long term prospects. Visit this link for more details
