This video shows an industrial embroidery machine creating an e-textiles circuit including embroidering the the circuit and attaching the LED automatically.

Madeira, the embroidery thread specialists have created a washable conductive thread (HC12). See the technical specification of this thread. 

Jacky Puzey, a designer who specialises in embroidery, has used the Madeira thread in some of her work. She has also attached the LEDs using an adapted sequin machine allowing the production of all of the work to be automated. See an article on one of Jacky’s pieces of work that includes e-textiles.
